El Dorado Irrigation District (EID)
required the expansion of the existing Deer Creek Treatment Facility
in El Dorado Hills, California. The sewage capacity prior to the
expansion of this treatment facility was 2.5 million gallons per
day (mgd). The completed expansion would increase the capacity to
3.6 mgd.
Syblon Reid renovated portions of the
existing sewage facility, constructed and installed a new grit remover,
secondary clarifier, gravity sludge thickeners, a sludge dewatering
belt press, lime sludge stabilization equipment, 1 million gallon
steel storage tank, related pumps and equipment, instrumentation
and controls, and electrical power.
EID management was very happy with
the outcome of this project. One member of management stated that
this project was the best he had ever managed in over 20 years.
