An emergency project for a valued client, the scope of work consisted of replacing an existing steel outlet structure and valve that had failed which controls releases from the lake to the downstream environment at Silver Lake.
Completed over 3 weeks and in the middle of winter at 7500’ elevation the project presented several challenges. To support the lakes pumping requirements on a 24/7 basis, bladder dams and bypass pumping were put in place. To meet stringent water quality standards dictated by the National Forest Service and the State of CA, a temporary filtration system was installed into the work area to handle any water leakage for water discharge back into the lake. To complete this challenging project and meet the client’s expectations in severe winter weather conditions the site was monitored by SRC personnel 24/7 during the projects duration.
