When a 3-foot water line supplying water to the cities of Napa and American Canyon in Solano County broke in January 2009, The Department of Water Resource (DWR) called on Syblon Reid to perform emergency repairs. Syblon Reid received the call from DWR on a Thursday morning. Within 1.5 hours an assessment team was at the site with an environmental survey and lockout/tagout of the system completed by 1:15 that same afternoon and the project was handed off to Syblon Reid crews. Equipment and personnel were immediately dispatched from other locations in the area and work commenced Thursday afternoon. For crews and equipment to reach the break an emergency road was cut-in and lined with rock. With crews working around the clock and in winter weather conditions, the repairs were completed and the system was operational by that Saturday at 1:15PM.
