72” Raw Water Pipeline

Location: Sacramento County, CA

A public works project to build an operable raw water conveyance system, scope of work includes installing 3,500 feet of 72-inch, 522 feet of 60-inch and 460 feet of 42-inch welded steel pipeline. Related work includes constructing a 12-foot diameter surge tower over 121-feet in height, installing combination air vacuum relief valves, drains, access ways, flow meters and vaults, and associated electrical improvements.

Several challenges on the project include rocky subgrade conditions requiring blasting, working in an area with strict environmental requirements, and the need to do critical work during scheduled shut-down periods.
